With a view of Marmolada mountain, Hotel Roy is a traditional mountain hotel. The hotel has a restaurant and free wellness content (sauna, Turkish bath, Jacuzzi) and it offers lunch service for the skiers, who are willing to take a short break from skiing. The guests may freely use the ski storage and they have direct access to the ski tracks. Complete relaxation is guaranteed in a 500m2 furnished garden with a children’s playground. The wellness-center contains a sauna, a hydro massage bathtub and a Turkish bath. This facility also has one of the best-rated locations in the town of Malga Ciapela! The rooms are very spacious and come equipped with lively rugs and light wooden furniture. Each one has a view of the surrounding mountains and an LCD TV with cable and pay-per-view channels. Hotel Roy is furnished in rustic style. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and it serves both international and regional dishes, mostly based on meat. Non-gluten meals and children’s meals are available per request. The hotel is situated right by the ski track!

Malga Ciapela in the foothills of Marmolada makes the base point of this ski resort which is marketed by the slogan: “From the hotel to the track”.

One thing which will delight the skiers is the surrounding landscape on which you are sure to blow the whole camera film (or memory card) along with the view of the surrounding mountain massifs from the summit of Marmolada. All of the tracks are mostly connected, with a bit of hiking necessary only by Arabbe when making a tour of Sella Ronda. A couple of demanding black runs, which you use to descend from the 2478m high top Portavescovo to Arabbe on 1602m, represent a definitive ‘must’ for every experienced skier. The track which also captivates by its length and attractiveness is a 12km long red run from Marmolada, which will take you from the top Punta Rocca all the way to the foothills of this majestic mountain. Marmolada, with its highest elevation of 3342m, represents the vertex of the Italian Dolomites. For the skiers, we definitely recommend the Dolomiti super ski ticket: 1 ski ticket – 12 ski destinations – 1200 km of tracks. For both beginners and advanced we recommend the ski ticket Marmolada Arabba with 63km of tracks.

Sella Ronda is a snow carousel of sorts around the Sella massif, which connects the four large ski centers in Dolomites and offers the skier a unique skiing experience. Sella Ronda represents a rounded ski tour around the Sella massif around which there are four ski centers – Alta Badia, Val Gardena, Val di Fassia and Arabba/Marmolada. These four resorts combined contain about 500km of tracks and around 220 ski-lifts. If you go to Sella Ronda you are in for an exciting bundle of various tracks and ski-lifts, connected across four mountain passes, through gorgeous landscape of dense forests and imposing rocks of Selle. For skiing on the Sella Ronda area, a ski-pass Dolomiti SuperSki is required, which is valid in eight ski centers of this network, you get the option of using a total of 1220km of tracks and 460 ski-lifts.
